About us

Having both been diagnosed with cancer amidst our undergraduate college careers, our usual day-to-day lives were changed and put on pause. Our focus and priorities were shifted on fighting for our lives and advocating for our health. We were shown at a young age what truly mattered in the world. After overcoming the disruption to our lives and obstacles we faced each day, we couldn't think of a better way to give back to others who may be going through something similar, than to create a support system for them.

Solace Support was founded for this exact reason. We wanted to make sure young adults who are going through, or have gone through cancer treatments, are supported however needed during their difficult times. Our goal is to take a negative situation and take away some of the edge and worry. Although people may feel alone during these difficult times, Solace Support is here for them.

During the Fall semester of my Junior year, I was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma after a few weeks of not knowing what was wrong. Being diagnosed with cancer changed and put my life in pause. It focused my priorities on fighting for my life. While going through treatment, both chemotherapy and radiation, I was in and out of the hospital. I had good days and bad days but what kept me feeling positive were my doctors and nurses. I got so close with them, and they have truly become heroes in my eyes and a major part of my life. I will forever remember all of my nurses and doctors and the support and care they have given me.

The entirety of this experience has allowed us to grow as individuals. Cancer has changed our lives for the better, as we now have a voice. Throughout our journeys, we have realized many things that we would have never noticed, such as having a strong sense of appreciation for absolutely everything in life. We are here now to help guide others throughout this process. We hope to change many people’s lives for the better and hope to inspire everyone with all that we have learned and experienced.

Towards the end of summer of 2018, I began experiencing low grade fevers that eventually turned into multiple symptoms for Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, such as night sweats, weight loss, and high grade fevers. After multiple weeks of uncertainty, that fall I was diagnosed with stage 2B Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, only 3 weeks into my junior year of college. My life as I knew it was turned around. I moved back to Miami from New York City, where I was attending Yeshiva University, and started treatments to begin my road to remission. Throughout my battle with cancer I learned to advocate for myself and put my health first, as it’s always the number one priority.
